Chile – Engineering and the Environment: Engineering Communication and Industry Experience in Valparaiso
Monday, October 15, 2018, 05:00pm - 06:00pm

On this program, students have the opportunity to visit various regions of Chile, from the Atacama Desert to the lakes of the south, and in those places get to learn firsthand the core economic and environmental issues affecting the country. During the latter part of the program, students settle into Valparaiso where they reflect on what they've seen in a series of writing assignments while simultaneously gaining industry experience in a global engineering environment. UT Professor John Cline teaches Engineering Communication, which carries 3 flags: Writing, Ethics & Leadership and Global Cultures. A local Chilean professor teaches the Industry Immersion seminar, which also provides students with practical workplace experience in the field of engineering.
