"My grandfather, Dr. Archie Straiton, was a professor in the ECE Department for almost 50 years and a distinguished professor and pioneer in the field of electromagnetic research. The Holman and Erlinger Families, led by Archie’s daughters and grandson, are honored to participate in the construction of a new building for ECE by naming the Dr. Archie W. Straiton Lab in the Electromagnetics, Antennas and Acoustics Research Neighborhood."

Tom Holman, BSEE 1983, MSEE 1984
Director, The Morning Foundation
$250,000 EERC investor

"For years I have thought the Engineering Science Building, which opened half-a-century ago, needed to be replaced. It just does not serve the needs of our fine students and faculty. I am delighted to invest in a new building which will take its place and which will be an extremely effective educational tool for modern engineering education."

"My wife, Sharon, and I are pleased to help the University develop the EERC which will be the 'technology center' at UT. The EERC will attract the best and brightest students from across campus to develop and test their new ideas and forge lasting friendships with each other and our outstanding professors. Join us and help make this facility a reality!"

"The U.S. has been the world’s leading economic power because of our strengths in engineering, science and math, but we are falling behind. That is why I decided to invest $4 million in the EERC. Singapore, about the size of New York City, has pledged $35 billion to their university research and science. If a country of that size can do that, surely we can do more in Texas."

S. Javaid Anwar, parent of a 2011 Cockrell School graduate
Founder and CEO, Midland Energy and Petroplex Energy
$4 million EERC investor

"The EERC will ensure the Cockrell School continues its incredible work developing young minds into productive leaders and creators. I was blessed my dad led me to UT Engineering, and thrilled my two children followed that same path. The Cockrell School has not only given them the knowledge and skills to excel, but the goodness and understanding required to become truly successful."

Richard “Dick” Brannon, BS PE 1981
Founder & CEO, CH4 Energy II, LLC
$250,000 EERC investor and part of a three-generation UT Engineering family
