Austin Exchange Upgrade and Mailbox Move

The following email is being sent out to all Engineering faculty and staff with Austin Exchange Mailboxes.


Austin Exchange User,

You have been identified as having an Austin Exchange Mailbox.  Please be aware that the campus Austin Exchange Server will be upgraded from Exchange 2007 to 2010, and your mailbox will be moved to the new server in the next few weeks.  You will be receiving an email from ITS before and after your mailbox has been moved.  Benefits of this upgrade include, 2 GB default mailbox size, updated Outlook Web Access that works with more browsers, and improved performance.



Mailbox moves will happen after hours starting July 20 and should be completed by July 29. During your mailbox move, email will be delivered.  Depending on your email client, at the end of your mailbox move there may be a short 1 minute interruption in your access to email.


What do you need to do?

ü  Windows PC - Outlook Users – No action needed.

ü  Mac - Outlook 2011 – No action needed.

ü  Mac - Entourage 2008 with web services – No action needed.


·         Mac - Entourage 2004 or Entourage 2008 without web servicesYou MUST upgrade.

o   To check which version you have, go to the Entourage menu and choose About

·         Mac - Apple Mail – You will need to verify your configuration.

·         IMAP and POP users (Thunderbird, etc.) – You will need to verify your configuration.
