The Institute Staff is composed of Adult Cluster Facilitators, Student Cluster Facilitators and On-Site Coordinators.

All members of the Staff are expected to:

1. Model leadership behavior and act with integrity
2. Establish a climate conducive to learning
3. Maintain an energy level that can keep up with the pace of the Institute

All Cluster Facilitators

Cluster Facilitators serve as the primary resource, catalyst, and facilitator for the Family Cluster group. They serve  as a bridge between the Learning Community and learning application in the Family Cluster.

Specific responsibilities include: 

  1. Clarifying, summarizing, and sharing ideas
  2. Guiding group discussions
  3. Teaching selected segments of the curriculum
  4. Challenge thinking and encourage reflection and feedback

Adult Cluster Facilitators

  • The Adult Cluster Facilitator (ACF) is an extremely important part of the participants’ Institute experience by their interaction in the Family Cluster environment.
  • Each ACF is paired with a Student Cluster Facilitators to co-facilitate the Family Cluster.
  • ACFs are provided by campus partners or corporate supporters.

Student Cluster Facilitators

  • Based on a strong belief in leadership development, The Institute hosted by the Cockrell School of Engineering is one of a few campus-based programs with the Student Cluster Facilitator (SCF) role.
  • The student staff is chosen in advance of upcoming programs.

On-Site Coordinators

  • During the Institute, the On-Site Coordinators work behind-the-scenes to ensure the day-to-day success of the program.


Note to All Applicants:

  • The Institute experience is unique for each participant. Therefore, The Institute staff members should want to enable others to have their own unique and positive experience in the program. Do NOT expect to recreate your own Institute experience.
  • Applications are restricted to undergraduate students of The University of Texas at Austin who have completed The Institute.
  • Students are not eligible to be a member of the staff, the semester they are graduating.
