Earlier this week, Interim Vice President for Research Alison Preston sent an email announcing that the university was implementing a cohort model to enable all lab-based researchers to come back onto campus. This was welcome news, especially for the graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who have been kept out of our laboratories over the past several months.

Starting July 27, it will be possible to increase your lab-based researchers from approximately 33% to 100%. Your first steps will be to decide how you will organize your cohorts, to discuss this organization and plan with your research teams, and finally, to complete this online survey.

Please be aware that you must complete the survey before any of your researchers can enter your labs. I encourage you to complete the survey by July 21.

For additional guidance and clarification in preparation for completing the survey, review our Research Survey FAQs.
