The atmosphere of the Leadershp Seminar was unlike any other. It was a meeting place for engineering women who are motivated, kind, and excited to make a difference in the world. We all had different engineering majors and backgrounds but the same goal to come together, learn from each other’s experiences, and better ourselves.

As we discovered more about ourselves, we were able to relate better to each other.  The bonds we formed led to deeper friendships!

Each week we explored a different aspect of leadership. Guest speakers lectured about their experiences. Every speaker was motivational and imparted leadership skills that are applicable to our futures. We also analyzed our own leadership styles through self-assessments that revealed a lot about our personalities. After reading many interesting articles for the class, I would form certain views but after passionate group discussions, I would have completely different outlooks.

After attending the seminar, I am much better equipped to communicate with and lead engineering organizations across campus. We addressed ethics, team-building, emotional intelligence, conflict-resolution, and many other important topics that can help a person become a great leader.  Overall the WEP Leadership Seminar was a very rewarding experience. If you’re curious and looking for an opportunity prepare for the workplace, you should register for this course!
