Many awards are offered annually to recognize the outstanding work our faculty are doing both in teaching and research.

Recent Recognition

Four faculty members received Cockrell School Faculty Excellence Awards for teaching, research and engineering achievements:

  • Michael Engelhardt, professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, received the Joe J. King Professional Engineering Achievement Award
  • Joseph Beaman, professor in the J. Mike Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the Billy and Claude R. Hocott Distinguished Centennial Engineering Research Award
  • Christine Julien, professor in the Department Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Award for Excellence in Engineering Teaching
  • Hugh Daigle, assistant professor in the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering, received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching by an Assistant Professor
